FORTY

So here it is, November 20th, 2008, the big 4-0, approaching middle age, peri menopause...sounds fun!! Well, the good news is, the world didn't stop just because I turned 40! It was just another day as a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend. My question is...where, oh where, did the time go??? Of course there were some NICE pictures posted at work (I heard a lot of comments...I didn't know that was you!) Not really sure if that's a compliment or not?? Anyway, looking back at the mid 80's do (so gross!), big hair, Princess Di hair, I still don't know where the time went - maybe at the hairdressers?? Honestly, life is so crazy, busy, one day blurs into another, and before we know it, it will be 2009! I think the anticipation of "turning 40" is much worse than actually turning 40. After all, if 50 is the new 30, then 40 must be the new 20! Wouldn't that be something...to be this wise and go through my 20's again! Here's to 40 years and 1 day, watch out world, here I come!

Halloween

Posted by Picasa
Who knew we had such pretty girls? The boys wanted to be cheerleaders for Halloween, and they got their wish! One of their best buds could get old Sidney Eagle cheerleader outfits, and they were set to go. First of all, let me say, boys just DO NOT get why a skirt has to go over your belly button or why they can't pull the skirt down around their hips (or where their hips are supposed to be, anyway!) Then I can't believe that high school girls actually fit into those uniforms! WOW! They were a little disappointed (at least Cooper) because he thought he
should wear a bra to fill out the top!
It was a beautiful night here in Montana, temperature in the 40-50's, something I don't think it's been since we've lived here. The boys got makeup put on, and they were very pretty, I have to say. We went to an assisted living home, and all of the grandmas and grandpas thought they were girls! We told them they were boys, and they were asked to do a little cheer for them. I was so proud of them, they actually did it! Of course Dawson was the leader (big surprise), and Quinn was the least demonstrative. I think he made the team on his looks only, not his skills!! All in all it was a fun night. They were STARVING, and the one night we gave them permission to eat candy to "tide them over", it was nothing but whining, "but we're so hungry"! Nothing like a supper of halloween candy and McDonalds!
The boys got up this morning and sorted their candy, trading 4 mini tootsie rolls for a reese's. Whatever works for them, I guess!

Basketball

Here's one of the Adults required to put up a basketball hoop!
Dawson in a game of lightening, very intense!
Coop shoots!
What a great follow through!
